After 7 years, Friday is my last day at my job. I'm excited to be starting my new life, but I'm also sad to be leaving behind so many good friends
here.
OTOH, I have the FL move, 5 competitions this fall/winter, 3 Broadway shows still to see, a trip through the Maritimes- and (time permitting)- Ontario.

I have missed a lot here I know. I'm thinking you chose to move for reasons of future happiness:) and so the bittersweet part is inevitable. I guess it is
like graduating almost-you will miss the friends, etc., but it is your time for another phase to begin! I wish you many happy new memories in Florida!
We have close friends there and are considering Ft.Myers in maybe 5 years or so ourselves. Which area are you moving into? |

If they are friends, they will keep in touch. There is always facebook! And being in Florida, I am sure they will be only too happy to have an excuse to visit
you.

ITA with Anna - you'll stay in touch for sure! AND besides them having a reason to visit you, you'll always have a reason to go back to your old
"stamping ground" and visit them

You are losing shoveling, icy roads, and everyone buying the bread when they say it MIGHT snow!
You are gaining gorgeous birds, flowers, and a relaxed mindset/atmosphere:)

I basically had 3 going away parties. We had a mini golf outing and dinner last night. It was technically a department outing planned long before I resigned,
but at dinner my boss said some really nice things (the big boss that is, not my immediate supervisor) and then he fired me.
 It was really funny. We were
picking out the wine and someone decided a Pinot Noir was good- an Italian one. I looked at the menu and saw a French one and decided we'd probably be
better off with the French. He said fine, then said, "But if its bad Liz, you're fired- and clean out your desk by 5:30Pm tomorrow!" 
Then today a group of us went out for hibachi lunch to a favourite restaurant. Tonight was my official going away party at Friday's. I was really touched that so many people were sad I was leaving. I managed to keep it together all day, but I burst into tears when I got in my car to go home.
